ELOPEMENT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER IN MALTA
Ola and Irena contacted with me a few months ago very excited about organizing their beautiful elopement wedding at the beach in Malta. I was very happy with that idea, for me it was an occasion to visit again this exotic small country and also spend few days with these lovely girls and create some beautiful images for them. From our very first video call I noticed how truly in love they were and I was sure it would be a beautiful experience to be on the island with them during that important day.
They have known each other for a long time, since high school, and have been together as a couple for the last few years. They moved to Malta last year, starting a new life in this sunny country which is one of the countries in Europe that legally allows same-sex weddings, lesbian and gay weddings.
The wedding was an intimate ceremony for just a handful of close friends at Riviera beach, this kind of intimate elopement wedding in Europe is really beautiful.
The dress code for the wedding was flower shirts 🙂 I have to admit that although I have been working as a wedding and elopement photographer in Europe for many years, this was the first ceremony I photographed barefoot and wearing shorts.
Thank you girls, it was an incredible experience!

THE WEDDING DAY
We started the wedding day at Ola & Irena’s apartment in Malta. I have the pleasure to meet also their four-legged best friend Juno who is a samoyed dog really sweet and friendly.
After writing the vows, we headed to Riviera Beach (Ghajn Tuffieha) Ola and Irena’s favorite beach on the northwest coast of Malta, near a small town called Manikata. That is a perfect location for a beautiful beach wedding. On the beach we celebrate an intimate ceremony at sunset with their closest friends. It was an unforgettable day full of emotions.
ELOPEMENT WEDDING IN EUROPE
Just to add a few words about this type of ceremonies that are becoming more and more popular. Elopement means to run away with your lover. Nowadays, this type of wedding means a small intimate wedding organized in one beautiful place usually abroad, these weddings generally have up to 10-15 guests. There are those that organize an elopement alone for two, but often it is a small group of close friends. The most popular places to organize this type of elopement wedding in Europe are Italy (Toscana, Amalfi Coast, Cinque Terre, Lake Como), Greece (Santorini, Mykonos, Corfu and other islands) Spain (Mallorca, Ibiza, Canary Islands), and of course Malta is also very popular and beautiful location for this type of service.
This is a very intimate and emotional moment when a couple makes a vow. Often the couple choose to do it overseas, so the elopement wedding is also like a short holiday in a very picturesque place. The result is a beautiful and meaningful experience that is remembered for a long time by the couple. From the point of view of a photographer shooting elopement weddings in Europe it is an opportunity to take some epic images and tell a beautiful story. I am very happy when I pack my camera and fly to some amazing location in Europe to photograph an elopement there.
